Visit one of these local farmers' markets for great taste and value
Close your eyes and imagine the smell of fresh, ripe tomatoes, or the taste of sweet, just-picked corn on the cob. Savor the sweetness of Maryland cantaloupes and the snap of peppers just off the vine.
Now open your eyes and head for one of the local farmers' markets in Maryland that bring fresh-from-the-field produce to you. This is the time to take advantage of produce that has not been en route for days or weeks. Maryland's farmers bring their fruit, vegetables, breads and pastries, jams and jellies, plants and flowers to markets around the state every week, all summer long. You can find a full list of farmers' markets at the Maryland Department of Agriculture web site, but here's sampling in our area.
