Election Round Up!
The silly season is upon us again. Why Vote
No, we’re not talking about cattle running through the streets of Bowie or Annapolis. It’s just that in these last few days before the election, it sometimes seems as if we’re living with a rodeo.
There are the out of town wranglers who ride in for an hour or two, round up folks for a few rousing speeches, and then ride on to the next town. Then there are the local cowboys (and cowgirls) who strut and spin to get our attention while saying unkind things about their opponents, each trying to look like the answer to all our problems. And finally, there are the varmints with automatic dialing machines who phone us up and have some famous person tell us why we should vote for their candidate.
The thing is, no matter what any of the candidates or famous people or local talent has to say, and how they might try to influence us, it’s still up to us. We get to think, we get to decide, and we get to choose. So whether you go to your local polling place, or mark an absentee ballot, be sure to make your choice known on November 7.
This year Maryland is in the spotlight with several races. What we decide matters. Make your voice heard on Tuesday.
