Bowie’s Mayor Joins District 23 Ticket

The local political season gears up with Mayor Robinson's selection.

Mayor G. Frederick Robinson of Bowie has joined the District 23 slate. The announcement was made Thursday by County Councilman Douglas J.J. Peters (D-Dist. 4) of Bowie who leads the ticket in the District 4 campaign.

Robinson’s experience as an elected official at the city level gave him the advantage over two other candidates who had never held political office, according to Peters. The District 4 Councilman will represent two of the largest cities in the county.

In the Gazette article, Robinson said, "They wanted someone who has the experience to start on day one.  …clearly, it’s important to send a message to voters that we have a common interest and a general goal to improve the district."
